GENERATIONS HAIR SALON - PHOTOGRAPHY AND SOCIAL MEDIA CONSENT POLICY

This policy explains how Generations Hair Salon (Fuggle Generations Pty Ltd, ABN 71 698 910 691) handles photography of clients and the use of client images on our social media channels, website, and other marketing materials. For the purposes of this policy the term Photography also includes any Videography.
1. Our Approach to Client Photography
We love sharing the work our team creates, and before/after photography is one of the most powerful ways we communicate the quality of our services to potential new clients. However, we will never photograph you, use your image, or tag you on social media without your explicit consent.
2. When We Ask for Consent
We may ask for your consent to be photographed at the following times:
At the time of booking, via our online booking system (Timely)
In person at the salon at the conclusion of your service, when your stylist is happy with the result and would like to capture it
At a bridal trial or wedding day appointment
You are never required to consent to photography to receive a service. Declining consent will have no effect on the quality of your service or your relationship with us.
3. What We Photograph
Where consent is given, we may photograph:
Your hair result - before and/or after the service
Close-up detail shots (e.g. colour technique, texture, finish)
Bridal styling - including bridal party group shots where each individual has consented
We do not photograph clients' faces without specific consent to do so. If you are comfortable with face photographs, please let your stylist know.
4. How We Use Your Images
With your consent, images may be used for:
Our Instagram account (@generationshair)
Our Facebook page (Generations Hair)
Our website at generationshair.com.au
Google Business Profile posts
Marketing materials including promotional posts, stories, and reels
We will not use your images for any purpose beyond those listed above without seeking your additional consent.
5. Tagging and Social Media Identification
We will only tag your personal social media account in a post if you have specifically requested to be tagged, or if you have tagged us first. If you would like to be tagged in a post featuring your hair, simply let your stylist know your Instagram or Facebook handle.
6. Image Credits
All images we post are credited to Generations Hair Salon. Where a client wishes to be credited or acknowledged, we are happy to do so on request.
7. Bridal and Group Photography
For bridal appointments and group formal bookings, we may wish to photograph the full bridal party or group. In this case, consent is required from each individual being photographed. Your stylist will ask each person separately before taking any photographs.
Wedding photography is often a sensitive area for clients who wish to maintain a surprise or control the timing of image releases. Please let us know if you have any specific requirements regarding when bridal images may be shared, and we will respect those wishes.
8. Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw your consent to the use of your images at any time by contacting us at info@generationshair.com.au or 02 4390 5260. We will remove your images from our active social media posts and website as soon as reasonably practicable following your request. Please note that images already shared may have been saved or re-shared by third parties beyond our control.
9. Copyright
All photographs taken by Generations Hair Salon or on our behalf remain the copyright of Generations Hair Salon. You are welcome to use images of your own hair result for your personal social media — we simply ask that you credit @generationshair when you do.
10. Third-Party Photography
If a client, wedding photographer, or other third party takes photographs at the salon or at a bridal appointment and shares images publicly that feature our work, we appreciate being credited or tagged. However, we do not control third-party photography and this policy applies only to photographs taken by or on behalf of Generations Hair Salon.
11. Privacy
The collection and use of your images as personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at generationshair.com.au, and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
